He served as a municipal Councillor for the Municipality of Port Hope and supported the community as Chair of the Port Hope Emergency

He served as a municipal Councillor for the Municipality of Port Hope and supported the community as Chair of the Port Hope Emergency Services Committee. Regarded as a subject matter expert in the field of emergency management, he continues to support academics at higher learning institutions as a curriculum developer.
